St. Anton am Arlberg carries within 750 years already the fifth name: 1275 called Vallis taberna, followed over the centuries the name Stanzertal (1275 - 1805) for a short time before the church St. Jakob name as the site of the old St Kuratie . Jacob was taken. (1805 - ca. 1811). This name is not likely to have been satisfactory and they agreed on the community name from the old Nasserein (1811 - 1927), which is located in the middle of the two fractions St. James and St. Anton, probably also because, as the Post Gasthaus in this district was to 1824. With the construction of the new highway in 1824, the two districts of St. Jakob and Nassereinbahn were bypassed and the district of St. Anton gained more and more importance. As in 1880 to 1884, the Arlberg railway was built, it was already clear in planning that the station St. Anton am Arlberg will be called, even though the community name was still Nassereinbahn. In 1927, the previously mentioned community Stanzertal finally renamed in St. Anton am Arlberg.
