The peninsula was popularized by French actress Brigitte Bardot in the 1960s. A statue in his likeness is also erected at the edge of a boardwalk that runs from the main street, the Rua das Pedras in the range of Ossos. This walk also bears the name of "Orla Bardot".

One of the most famous seaside resorts of Brazil is Armacao dos Búzios , is an 8km peninsula, surrounded by islands, with over 20 tracks in all styles. It is here that all the jet set in Brazil is found to party ... This is the St. Tropez of Brazil which also saw a rather large French colony attracted by the safety, natural beauty and quality of life.

It was a small fishing town and now is an enchanting place, where the majority of institutions are workshops for artists, pousadas, numerous shops, cafes, sophisticated, or more traditional restaurants, within which we find the portrait of the muse of Buzios, Brigitte Bardot, who after staying in the sixties, the city attracted the attention of artists and tourists around the world.

Buzios receives sea currents from the equator on one side and the south pole of another, so it has many beaches with warm waters and with cooler water. Among the main beaches stand Geribá with 1.7 kilometers of fine white sand that is highly valued by Cariocas, João Fernandes.
